People often say that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Others argue that what doesn’t kill you mutates, and tries again.
I think the truth lies somewhere in between.
What hurts us rarely disappears after a single encounter. It returns, wearing different clothes, in different relationships, under different names.
The fear remains.
The insecurity remains.
The pattern remains.
Again and again, life seems to ask the same question, only in a different form.
Perhaps what changes is not the challenge itself.
Perhaps what changes is the person meeting it.
The cycle continues until we respond differently.
Not by avoiding the fear.
Not by pretending it no longer exists.
But by meeting it with a little more awareness, a little more courage, and a little less certainty that it defines who we are.
Perhaps growth is not about becoming untouchable.
Perhaps it is recognising the familiar visitor, and choosing to greet it differently this time.
